Tickets will be issued using an electronic raffle system supplied by Ascend Fundraising Solutions. After buying, purchasers will receive a confirmation email with their registered ticket from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
Tickets are non-refundable once draws commence. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible. Prizes are tax-exempt.
Prizes will be awarded to the primary ticket holder (the first name that appears on the ticket). In the event of a group win, in trust win or any win involving multiple individuals, any transfer of prizes must happen independently of Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, the licensee. Neither Cowichan District Hospital Foundation nor GPEB is responsible for any disputes among the individuals.
The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.
All ticket holders have the right to witness the draw. Two of the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation executive members and one member of the public who is not part of the licensed group will be in attendance to witness the draws.
The winners will be posted on the www.splitthepot.ca website, on social media, and e-news. The winner acknowledges and hereby irrevocably and in perpetuity release the right for Split the Pot Lottery, participating Split the Pot charities, and/or their designees to use and/or publish the Winner’s first name and first initial of the last name, city of residence, photographs or other likenesses, pictures, portraits, video, voice, testimonials, and/or statements made by the Winner regarding the raffle or otherwise worldwide and in perpetuity for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, advertising, publicity, trade and/or promotion in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, print, TV, radio, electronic, cable, social media outlets or World Wide Web, without further limitation, restriction, compensation, notice, review, or approval.
A representative of Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, the licensee, will contact the grand prize winners by phone and/or email.
In the unexpected event of a power failure, the draw will be postponed and take place immediately once power has been restored.
In the event the Split the Pot Lottery does not reach its break-even point a draw date extension or cancellation of the raffle may be requested through GPEB.
The Grand Prize winner must provide his/her name, address, and phone number with picture identification for validation and send it to winners@splitthepotbc.ca. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided. All prizes will be delivered to the winner or sent via registered trackable mail service should in person pick up not be an option.
The winning ticket holder has 3 months to claim their prize from the date of the draw. Unclaimed prizes will be reported, and a charitable allocation will be approved by GPEB.
Regulations prohibit the following persons and their immediate families residing in the same household from purchasing a ticket and being eligible to win: Raffle Administrators and anyone involved in the administration or operation of the raffle, Foundation staff and board of directors of Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, and staff (including all employees and contractors) of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to Split the Pot Lottery, board members and staff (including all employees and contractors) of any participating Split the Pot charities. Any raffle tickets purchased by these individuals shall not be eligible to win.
